Overview
As a Solutions Consultant, I led discovery and advisory engagements with enterprise customers — helping them understand how to apply platform capabilities to their specific operational challenges. This work bridged the gap between what the product could do and what the customer needed it to do.
The Challenge
Enterprise customers often had complex, highly specific operational workflows that didn't map neatly to out-of-the-box platform features. Without hands-on guidance, they struggled to see how the platform could address their needs — leading to slow adoption and underutilization.
My Role
I served as the primary Solutions Consultant for key accounts, responsible for leading discovery workshops, designing tailored solution architectures, and advising on implementation strategy.
Approach
Each engagement started with structured discovery — understanding the customer's operational environment, key pain points, and success metrics. I then mapped their requirements to platform capabilities, identified gaps, and designed solution architectures that balanced customization with scalability. I partnered closely with product management to feed customer insights back into the roadmap.
What I Delivered
- Structured discovery frameworks used across multiple customer engagements
- Tailored solution architectures for enterprise-scale deployments
- Implementation roadmaps with phased rollout plans
- Feedback loops connecting customer needs to product roadmap priorities
Outcome
Discovery-led engagements consistently resulted in faster time-to-value for customers. The structured approach also created a repeatable playbook that scaled across the consulting team and improved the quality of customer-to-product feedback.
Key Learnings
- Discovery is a skill, not a phase. The quality of the engagement depends on asking the right questions and listening for what's not being said.
- Solution design is a translation exercise — the best solutions map customer language to platform capabilities without forcing either side to change.
- The consulting role is uniquely positioned to influence product strategy. The insights gathered in the field are often more valuable than survey data or analytics.
