Overview

Guided Work is a voice-directed platform that makes voice the primary user interface for frontline work. It delivers hands-free, eyes-up workflows for picking, receiving, replenishment, and put-away, and integrates tightly with Workforce Intelligence so voice-driven execution feeds the same unified data and insights.

The Challenge

Distribution-center workers were slowed by screen- and paper-based workflows that occupied their hands and eyes, introduced errors, and required lengthy onboarding. Voice execution existed in isolation from the broader operational data, so the rich signal it generated wasn't being captured or acted on.

My Role

As Product Manager, I owned strategy for Guided Work and its integration with Workforce Intelligence — defining how voice-directed execution should connect to task management, insights, and the connected worker data model.

Approach

I worked with customers and frontline operators to understand where voice created the most leverage, then prioritized capabilities that reduced friction: fast onboarding, adaptable speech recognition, and low-code integration with host systems. I defined the integration points that let Guided Work workflows flow into Workforce Intelligence's shared analytics.

What I Delivered

- Voice-guided workflows for picking, receiving, replenishment, and put-away that automatically trigger the next step based on worker responses - "Pick-Up-and-Go" speech recognition that let new operators start with minimal training and adapted to individual speech preferences - No-code to low-code connectors for rapid integration with almost any host system - Integration with Workforce Intelligence so voice-driven execution fed unified insights and analytics

Outcome

Guided Work improved labor productivity and cycle times through hands-free execution while promoting a safer workplace and higher retention. Its integration with Workforce Intelligence made voice-driven work a first-class source of operational data rather than a disconnected silo.

Key Learnings

- The best interface is the one that disappears. Making voice primary meant designing around the worker's task, not the screen. - Integration is a product feature. The value multiplied once Guided Work execution flowed into the same data model as everything else. - Reducing onboarding friction has outsized ROI in high-turnover environments — "pick up and go" was as much a business lever as a UX one.
